John and Elaine both grew up Catholic but dropped out of church. After moving to Kansas, they visited a Methodist church where they both committed their lives to the Lord. The couple moved into the area when John took a job with a local Fountain Inn plant as a salesman. For a solid year they worshipped at various churches, longing to find one that was right for them. Discouraged when they did not find one they liked, they dropped out of church altogether for about a year.

When Life Spring was launched the couple decided to give the search another try. They attended the first worship service and have been a part of the church ever since. They share their overflowing love with their adopted son, Isaac.

Here is what John and Elaine have to say about Life Spring Community Church:

John was baptized Catholic but considered himself an agnostic who laughed at Christians. Angela was raised in a Christian home, but had walked away from the Lord during her teen years. They met and married, and both partied hard, living life in the fast lane for many years.

John and Angela came to Life Spring out of obligation to see their relative, Mary, join the church on Organization Sunday. That day, something began to stir in John’s heart. It was a feeling he was unfamiliar with, and it scared him. Like other problems, he tried to drown it with alcohol, but God would not allow him to get drunk. He immediately gave up drinking. The strange, new feeling lasted for several days, during which he found himself almost in tears while at work as a correctional officer. He had dreams about God and the church. His knees were week and he lost much sleep. Those few days were hard.

The following Wednesday John finally got up the courage to call the pastor at Life Spring. He said, “Something happened to me at church last Sunday and it’s scaring me to death.” The pastor explained that God was calling John, and that’s why he felt that way. He also met with John that same day, and led him to accept Jesus into his heart. His relief was instant.

A few weeks later, Angela also made a commitment to the Lord. John, Angela and their children continue to serve the Lord today. God used Life Spring to make a world of difference in this family’s life. He can do the same for you.
